Well, “Mom at Disney Week” has officially reached its conclusion. Kel came last night after work and picked up the rest of his kiddos. They slept in their own beds last night, and Mom is scheduled to be home sometime this evening. He is off work today, so they all get to do some re-bonding before Christina arrives.
The
day yesterday was actually very quiet.
The two older guys left early to go to their house and get ready to be
picked up for baseball practice. Jachin
drove Kel’s car home. I picked Kel up
from work and he drove the big car with all the car seats. Oh, and the rest of the kids. And the dogs.
You know … it just hit me. I
thought they were supposed to bring their hamsters here with them as
well. Guess they decided to leave them
at home and trust Dad to take care of them each night. The younger three really hit the
jackpot. It was karate class in the
morning and then … media afternoon. They
played games on tablets and had some rousing tournaments on the wii.
There
was one memorable statement made yesterday.
Josiah was the culprit … er, I mean the perpetrator of said
proclamation. When Chris asked him why
he had lifted a bag of those gummy fruit snack things without asking, he
replied (without missing a beat),
“Oh, I have to eat these fruit snacks to activate my Advil.” What? Activators?
I gotta say, that one became an instant
classic. I may use it sometime …
Hebrews
13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same
yesterday, today, and forever.”
Father,
thanks for our week with the kids. It
sure was quiet around here last night.
Thanks for that, too. Amen.
