March 15 - “Cognitive shuffling”

Packing has begun. Officially. That would be for our Spring training trip. Of course, before we leave for that one, we get to entertain the grandkids for a few days of Spring break. They descended last night and were more than ready to go … fishing, that is.

Speaking of ready to go, of course we had to get in one more trip to Walmart. Not a full-blown excursion, though. More like a guy’s style go get the things on the list and leave.  Short and sweet.

I found an interesting video. It was all about how to get to sleep when you can’t get to sleep. It’s called Cognitive shuffling. Basically, you start by picking a random word. Then choose the first letter of that word. Start with that first letter and say all the other words you can think of that start with that letter. Then move to the next letter of your original word. Repeat with words that start with that letter. Repeat. If you’re still not asleep, pick another word and repeat the process. I could have used that night before last.

Josh and his crew made their way in sometime after four (I forgot to look. I was watching the Texas vs Tennessee basketball game). Great to have them here again.

James‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ ‭says, Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him.

Father, thanks for the safe trip you provided the Waco Family. Amen.
