OK.
Before I say anything else … Happy 44th anniversary to my
love and my wife (who just happen to be the same person, thank goodness). We do have a day planned. Sort of.
I’ll try to keep track and report on it tomorrow. But for now, yesterday …
The telephone screen repair guy came a little
after 9. He was delayed in traffic and
because of the weather. He replaced not
just the screen, but also the entire back piece of the phone, right there on
our dining room table. Impressive.
Our little neighbor buddy, Brennan, was
home for the day while Mom and Dad went to work. He does that on occasion when the day care
field trip doesn’t appeal to him. As
usual, we texted back and forth throughout the day. He checks in with us whenever he gets
bored. Glad we can be here for him. We make right decent security blankets.
We did take a drive later in the day in the
middle of the tropical storm. Well, OK,
it wasn’t really a tropical storm, but it was sure raining hard, and the wind
was blowing like crazy. Guess it was
here to give the new residents and visitors a taste of what could happen at any
time between June 1 and the end of October.
Oh, we went to WalMart, of course.
Had to get some groceries. And
while we were checking out … all the power went off. See, I told you it was a tropical storm. Chris immediately told me to text
Brennan. Guess she was needing a little
security blanket of her own. He was
fine. I think he was kind of sorry he
didn’t come with us to experience the adventure. The lights came back on in just a minute or
two, but then we had to wait an extra ten minutes for all the computers to
reboot. And then we had to start over
and re-scan all the items already bagged up.
Meanwhile, we chatted with the checker and the customers behind us. Gotta love WalMart.
That’s all for today. Chris just walked in, so I have to tell her
Happy Anniversary …
Job 19:25 says, “I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on
the earth.”
Father, thank you for watching over
Brennan. And for him being there for us
when get a little discombobulated in a darkened WalMart. Amen.
