So, no early morning walk for us yesterday. We had to hang around for the workers to get started on the house. Chris said we should have gone at 6.30 and been back at the house around 7:40. But then she added, “But that would have meant I had to actually get up at that time.” Yep.
The guys arrived right at 8, as expected, and got right to work. Chris alternated between walking circles in the house and working on her latest quilt. I put in my three or four puzzle pieces, took a nap, and checked out the latest standings for MLB. Things look bleak for the Astros. Guess all the injuries this year finally caught up with them.
Speaking of the workers, after a pause to let a thunderstorm pass, they got back to work until they left around 4:30 or so. They finished two of the three sides and were under the impression that that was all they had to do. I explained they were supposed to finish the other side as well. They said they would be back this morning, so hopefully the job will be all done today.
Oh! And as a bonus, they fixed the way our gate was hanging. It has been scraping the concrete. Not any more. Thanks, guys!
James 3:13 says, Who is wise and has understanding among you? He should show his works by good conduct with wisdom’s gentleness.
Father, bless those guys working on the house. Thanks for the blessing they gave us fixing the gate. Amen.
