Our day started about like any other of our last day trips to Waco. We got all packed up and ready for our return trip to the Island by a little after 8. Why so early? Two reasons. First … we had to stop for gas. Second … Church up there starts at 9.
As it turned out we made it just fine for church at nine. And Sunday School right after. Meanwhile, Christi texted to let us know that the Wrinkles had come to town and were going to the second service. So … so did we. Same sermon. Different songs. Different crowd. A real double play. L Guess we were double-blessed.
After church we all went over to AnnaGrace’s favorite eating establishment, a fast food joint called Freddy’s. AG loves their fries. Chris had a grilled chicken sandwich. I had their signature double bacon cheeseburger. Good, but pretty salty. I did like the tater tots, though.
After a quick bathroom stop at Buc-ees, we continued our homeward journey. A text to Nathan, though confirmed that they were at home, so we made another detour and stopped to check up on them.
Philippians 4:19 says, And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Father, thank you for the worship services we experienced - both of them. Thank you for the chance to put eyes on Cailyn again (Nathan and April, too). And thanks for the safe trip home. Amen.
