May 23 - “Next phase”

Slow morning. Kids watched Dude Perfect. Noa worked on some creative writing. After lunch Ezra played some video game baseball, while Noa worked on some sewing. Chris walked in circles. Our “indoor track” is a loop from the kitchen through the office and hall and back to the kitchen.

I took Ezra with me to run a few errands. Bank first, then pick up some of Chris’ med refills. While we were out, we got word that Christina’s Dad had died. Sad time, but I’m sure there was some relief mixed in as well. Keep praying for the family. They still have a lot of hurdles to jump.

Last night Chris made a big pot of shrimp gumbo. We took it up to LaMarque to do a big feed for all five kids again. We went there because Noa and Ezra both had karate classes anyway.

Little did they know that Mom and Dad were already on their way back from Corpus Christi. The older three didn’t seem to know, either, so we assumed it was to be a surprise and treated it as such. Of course, that meant leaving the kids’ suitcases, but we figured if nothing else, Jachin could stop by and take it another time.

Kel and Christina did arrive while we were at their house. It was great to see the long hugs all around from the kids so glad to see Mom and Dad.

Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭31‬-‭32‬ says, When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

Father, please continue walking with Art’s family as they negotiate this next phase of life. Amen.
