I had to jump on the phone early yesterday. I had a doc appointment scheduled for the same time as a basketball camp Josh asked me to help with. It was just a simple follow up thing, so it was amazingly easy to reschedule. Only two months out.
It was Thursday, so we did spend some time cleaning house. That was followed in rapid succession by a series of errands.
Home Depot for some Chris’ potting soil re-potting project. Say that five times fast.
Randall’s to pick up a prescription for me and some vitamins for Chris.
And finally … Walmart (of course) for some groceries. My list included, well, bananas. Chris’ was a bit more extensive. Along with the stuff we needed after being out of town, she is helping Christina put together the food for the dual graduation reception in honor of Jachin (college) and Micah (high school). Veggies for a tray. Cheese and ro-tel for queso. Salad fixin’s. Milk. Juice. Just the usual stuff.
Last night we hosted home group, as is our usual Thursday evening practice. I had to leave the Astros game to my friend Dianne, the Super Rangers Fan. She managed to rustle up a 1-0 victory for the bad guys. One bad pitch hit for a home run. Otherwise it was two Cy Young quality pitchers out there. Well done.
Ephesians 4:29 says, No foul language is to come from your mouth, but only what is good for building up someone in need, so that it gives grace to those who hear.
Father, thank you for being, well, in the midst of things. Amen.
