I don’t want everyone to think that only bad things happen around here lately. I mean other than the Astros losing yesterday. But, hey, they are still ahead in the series. We know how to celebrate the small victories as well. Joy in the little things.
We
both successfully completed our daily exercise regimen. I know, the fact that we have to have one
could be construed as a negative, but change your perspective. This way we get to celebrate being done with
it every single day. Joy in the little
things.
We
also managed a walk with Freddy. She is
a lot of fun to take out. She goes absolutely
nuts when she realizes I am at the drawer where we keep her harness and
leash. I just drop it down next to her
and she does her best to finagle into the proper position to get it on. We increased our track to a couple of longer
streets. We’re taking that increase slowly
to ease my back into it. And we made
it. Freddy didn’t chase the Doberman. Actually, she repositioned when she saw him to
place me between the two of them. Smart
dog. Funny thing was … the Doberman was
inside a fence. Joy in the little
things.
Oh,
and we accomplished something else that has been on Chris’ plate for some time
now. She broke out the super glue to
piece back together a few things that have been in pieces for a while now. One was the lid to one of the ceramic jars
her mom gave her. sentimental value,
that one. She was hoping it would go
together with no evidence of the crack showing.
Not sure we got that far, but it is definitely back together. As is the little ceramic eagle that somehow “fell”
off one of the display shelves. There
are still some tiny pieces missing from that one, but it is back to its simulated
soaring once again. Joy in the little things.
Romans
15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you
trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy
Spirit.”
Father,
thank you for the hundreds of “little things” that we don’t even notice every
day. You are just as amazing in those as
you are in the massive miracle department.
Amen.
