Yesterday was fire department photo day. They try every year to get a picture of each of the guys in their class A uniforms (Fancy stuff) so they can in turn compile them and post a huge framed set on the wall of the station at Central. It’s actually how I learned the names of some of the guys when I first started out. And we have had so many new hires, I may have to take a picture of the picture to start all over again. I was hoping it would give me a chance to deliver some new baby Bibles to two of the guys. For their babies; not for them. Sadly, neither guy works out of that particular station, and neither was scheduled to take his picture this time. Oh, well. I’ll try to track them down later.
Yesterday
afternoon we had a visit from the Vaughan boys of LaMarque. Just the boys. The girls stayed at home because Noa has been
feeling poorly. The purpose of the visit? Kel needed to download an operating system
reboot disc of some kind for the computer Jachin uses for school. The download went off without a hitch, but it
didn’t solve their problem. Guess a new
computer looms in their very near future.
And
finally, Chris sewed while I watched the Astros game. McCullers did an amazing job pitching, but
Altuve kind of lost it on defense two errors, and one led to three unearned
runs, enough to seal the game. I gotta
give some credit to the Rays, though.
They played some great defense.
The Astros hit some really good smashes, but the defense made the plays when
they had to. The series is not over yet …
Proverbs
27:5 says, “Better is open rebuke than hidden love.”
Father,
please help Kel find the right computer for their family. And as always, please be with the fire
department guys on shift and with their families. Amen.
