What a day. It started out when the truck didn't start. I was going to head on to the church and Chris was coming later to give Mom some extra time to get ready. I'm afraid it's the alternator. I'll try to jump it this morning and get it to Dennis' shop. Here we go again, auto repairs. We had a great worship service. The students shared about camp. They did an especially good job of sharing testimonies rather than reports. They presented challenges about what they learned personally. Lots of scripture. I was very proud. We had to meet in the fellowship building downstairs. Our guests from Birdville Baptist Church who will be leading our Vacation Bible School church had around 50 people there. Some of our friends from seminary days (Kel and Josh's first baby sitter and her family) added 9 or so more. There was just no more room left. After the service we had a discernment meeting. The purpose was to get a group together to determine what the specific needs were at Seaside, who would be willing to champion each cause, and how would communication be best handled among the resulting group. They will get together next Sunday after dinner on the grounds. We also decided that the best course of action for the near future would be to keep meeting in the fellowship building as we finish fixing it up. It definitely gives us the extra space we need. The final decision was to name David Phillips the education director, giving him the authority to represent Seaside Christian Academy in particular to prospective parents. We stopped by the pharmacy. They had heard from the doctor and refilled the RA prescription. But when she rang it up we discovered that our insurance company has decided that they will no longer cover Celebrex. Figures. That was the one that worked. They are going to call the doctor's office and see if he will switch to one that is covered. So now it's been a week without the anti-inflammatory. Yes, I can tell it. Chris told me to take Motrin again in the morning and the pain pills I have before bed. Here we go again, pain. Can't say I missed you. We then made a quick trip to Bay City to pick up our nieces, Taylor and Cheyenne. That completed one of our most traveled weeks of the year, and we still have to get them back home at the end of the week. Here we go again, road trip. Proverbs 18:15 says, "The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge; the ears of the wise seek it out." Father, thanks for the great spirit in worship and at the discernment meeting yesterday. Amen. |
