April 7 – “Astros”

Cailyn came over this morning.  Her Mom had to take a test at school.  Sounds like April is doing pretty well in her trek toward nursing.

I got a haircut this afternoon.  It wasn't all that long, but it had grown up around my ears, and it was getting to where it was affecting efficient operation of ,my hearing aids.  They would squeal at random times – whenever a hunk of hair would brush against it.  I don't understand how women wear these things.  OK.  Women or men with long hair.

Chris and Mom went to Wednesday Club.  It's the first time in several months that Chris has been available to go.

Chris' Mom had to spend the night in the hospital.  All they did was a blood transfusion, but it takes four hours.  Her Dad said they were awake until after four.  It didn't finish until then.  They were very ready to go home.  It worked out OK for us to get to the Astros game.  Kel and I just went by and picked her up from the hospital.  Then when we found out she was staying the night, she came home with us and I brought her back the next morning.

Speaking of the Astros.  It was opening night.  My first one.  I expected a full house and a huge opening ceremony.  Not that much on either count.  There were empty seats everywhere.  And the best part of the opening ceremony was the three ex-Navy seals who parachuted into the stadium.  The wind was doing weird things, so they came in very fast for their landings.  The Astros lost the game, but the new young shortstop got a hit.  I'm still a hard core Astros fan.  They have a long time yet to come back and make the playoffs.  It could happen.

Jachin has a baseball game tonight.  This week it's early, so we'll probably go there and then head out to the church for youth group.  I need to put some more garage sale stuff in the storeroom, talk to Mike about camp, and check with Rita about the school board meeting coming up.  We need a few teachers for next year.

Proverbs 19:21 says, "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."

Father, fulfill you purpose.  May your will be done.  Amen.
