That Footprints poem is a great one. We now have a Footprints experience of our own. Kel and Christina and Jachin and Micah came over to see our new car. The boys were really excited and couldn't wait to get inside. And being boys, they both entered through the driver's seat and proceeded to climb into the back, and then into the "way back." And wherever their little feet stepped, they left a footprint of mud. Kel did his best to stop them, but they were well beyond worrying about a little dirt. In fact, their response was, "But they've already driven it, Dad." Here's a Vaughan version. Footprints in the seat Children giggle, laugh and leap, Bounce and roll into a heap Stepping down with little feet Making footprints in the seat. Dad says no the cloth is new, But what's a boy supposed to do? Wipe it, dust it, spit and brush Now no need for them to hush. Children giggle, laugh and leap, Bounce and roll into a heap Brand new car or worn out shell Just love those boys, they'll turn out well. 2 Chronicles 7:1-3 says, "When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. 2 The priests could not enter the temple of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled it. 3 When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the Lord above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying, 'He is good; his love endures forever.'" Father, come like that to Seaside. Any time. Amen. |
