How’s this for an early wake-up call? At exactly 7:01 a.m. we received a delivery of a Christmas present we ordered – just the day before, mind you - from Target. Freddy announced the delivery, of course. Pretty impressive, Target.
Speaking
of Target, we made a Walmart run for some
groceries. They had 1 regular checker and 1 working the 20 items or less lane.
Everything else was self-serve. Well, we hit a snag and needed some help, so we
called over one of those Hoverers they have. She made matters worse. Meanwhile,
I figured out the answer to our dilemma, and finally stepped in to take over.
Hey. She was good at being a Hoverer. Just not so much at operating the
computers. Of course, it is entirely possible that I have more experience
working those self-check computers than she does …
We
did some more decorating in the afternoon, right up until Chris had to leave
for a physical therapy appointment. Once she left, I may or may not have returned
to WalMart and snuck a little Christmas shopping for Chris.
I
also had time to do some online research, and I found a free signs website.
They had just the “Enter” and “Exit” signs we needed for the Bethlehem Street Market
on Saturday. I printed them off and
glued them to a piece of poster board. I
also did some lettering on a presentation board for the kitchen to use for a
menu of soups and stuff on Saturday.
Chris
was excited to tell me all about her physical therapy workout. Just like a little kid. This one was for her eyes, though. They have determined that her balance issues
are related to her ears, so they are putting her eyes through the ringer. Kind of illustrates that scripture about the
individual parts making up one body, and the whole body is affected when one
part is injured.
Last
night was Chris’ first attempt at using a C-pap machine. It didn’t go so well. We figured out how it was supposed to work,
and I guess it was working. Air was
blowing out, anyway. But she just couldn’t
seem to get it adjusted exactly right. I
noticed when I got up this morning that she finally just gave up on it and took
it off. Oh well.
6:33 says, “But
seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be
given to you as well.”
Father, please
give Chris some encouragement as she works through all this health madness. Amen.
