December 6 - “A Decorative Day”

We took a walk again. It’s been a while for me. Hip and back issues and all. I made it a full mile. Even got through all my exercises as well. The day did start off really foggy, but it all burned off by the time we finished.

We spent a good deal of the rest of the day decorating the tree. The kids got us off to a great start just after Thanksgiving, but we had quite a few more to add, primarily the ornaments we have collected from our travels. It was fun remembering the places we have been.

Last night we went up to the church to do the decorating of the retreat center. Cathy, Lauren, Glen, Chris and I waded through what needed to be done up there. Chris and Lauren did the final assigning of vendor spots as well. We got most of the work done, but there are still a few finishing touches left. I know a few of the trees need lights and some ornaments. And Cathy said she was returning tonight to finish vacuuming. Chris still has to assign booths in the worship center, among many other things on her ever-growing punch out list. Guess we’ll be back up there tonight as well.

Deuteronomy 31:6 says, Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

Father, thank you for the work those faithful few put in last night. Help us get it all done quickly so Chris can relieve some stress. Amen.
