Lauren came by to take Sam to her doctor’s appointment. Sam did a really good job of getting into Lauren’s car. She seems to be moving much better. Sam, not Lauren. Not that Lauren is moving poorly. Sam is. But … never mind.
Chris
and I had some errands to run. The UPS store to return something. Target to
return something. Sensing a theme here? Randall’s to pick up a prescription.
Good thing. I don’t imagine they take returns on prescriptions.
When
we got back, the city workers were actively scraping away at our street. The
hope was that ours is the next street to receive the beauty treatment, the
famous tar and no feathering experience, the asphalt jungle-ization of
Sycamore. They had managed quite the ditch in front of our driveway, too.
Fortunately, we had made arrangements with our neighbor to use her driveway
again. The road is adequately scraped now. But when cometh the asphalt? Only
time will tell.
We
left a little early for Chris’ eye physical therapy appointment. We used the
extra few minutes to grab a burger from Whataburger. We sat in the car to eat
it. We were pretending we were on a road trip. Guess we kinda miss it.
Lauren
and Sam returned and got her all settled in. Sam, not Lauren. Not that Lauren
isn’t settled …….
Psalms 42:11 says, “Why,
my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”
Father,
thank you for Lauren stepping up again to care for Sam. Bless her for
that. Amen.
