That's right. Today was officially moving day. It's not like we had to be out of Omega Bay by sundown. But we are so ready to get into our own home again. And as it turned out, we're going to sleep at the Omega house at least tonight. Chris and I loaded up the truck and Explorer and headed to Galveston, hoping to meet up at some point with Nathan and Kel. They were going to help us with the heavy stuff. Nathan called first, and April and Cailyn went to pick up some donuts. We munched on some warm donuts and watched Chris install drawer liner paper (aka shelf paper). Nathan finally talked to Kel. We arranged for Nathan and I to make the first trip to Omega and Kel would meet us to unload. Nathan is amazing at loading pickup trucks, so we got almost everything still stored in the Omega garage in the first trip. Kel was waiting when we arrived, so the unload went much faster than the load did. The whole Galveston family was there – Mom, April, Cailyn, Micah, Jachin, Christina, Chris, Nathan, Kel and me. The boys were very excited about helping. Micah said he was going to move Nana and DadDad's bed all by himself (he probably could have. Right now that would be our air mattress!). Jachin said would take care of moving the light bulbs. Chris had to leave late morning. She went to a surprise 70th birthday party for an aunt of hers in Needville, Texas. She also picked up her nieces there. They live in Victoria, and usually spend a week with us each summer. And next week is Vacation Bible School, so here they are. We finished clearing out our stored stuff in my brother's garage in Tiki Island. Tomorrow we hope to pick up a bed from a friend in the church. We also have a table and some chairs at another church friend's house. Before long we'll be able to actually sleep in Galveston again. Psalms 4:8 says, "I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety." Father, I want to sleep in our Galveston house again. But more so, I want to sleep in your peace. Amen. |
