December 8 - “A Day in It-lee”

I did something yesterday I haven’t done in literally years. I ate a Big Mac. Yep. I went to McDonald’s with Zak and Luke before the basketball tournament game. The tournament was in the self-proclaimed “Biggest Little Town in Texas.”  No guesses? Place called Italy, Texas. But be careful with the pronunciation. It’s not “Ih-tah-lee.”  Nope. Correct way to say it is: “It-lee.” Everybody knows that, right? Good. Now on to the tournament.

Game 1: 44-35. Bad Guys win. We sure missed Caleb. He’s good for 6-8 points with his offense, 8-12 points with his assists, and untold stops with his defense. Plus his presence on the court changes the whole focus dynamic of the team.

Game 2: 41-17. Good Guys Win. And as an extra special bonus … because of some weird circumstances, that victory meant we were scheduled to face the very same team in the third place game. However … when notified of the scheduling, the coach of the other team responded, “Yeah? Well, we’re going home.”  Yep. Third place victory by forfeit. Woohoo! Hoorah for weird circumstances!

The victory also allowed us to get back to Waco in time for Caleb’s performance in the musical at church. Of course Caleb was fabulous. He even sang a solo. Best part about it, though? He was wearing my “pineapples in sunglasses” Hawaiian shirt. Nice job, Caleb. The team missed you, but we are proud of you.

Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ says, But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!

Father, thank you for the whole musical experience, both for us as spectators, and also for the actors. Amen
