Chris pulled a fast on me yesterday. We were finishing up our walk when she suddenly informed me that we were going around the block one more time, effectively adding another half mile to the two we just completed. Phew! I gotta be careful around this lady.
And then in the afternoon we did more walking. This time it was just around Walmart. We needed fruit. And we did a little bit of Christmas shopping. Not done yet. We still have stuff we ordered online that hasn’t arrived. Gotta love Christmas!
Last night we were treated to a real Christmas surprise. We were invited to join the residents of Autumn Springs assisted living facility on a visit to the Moody Gardens Festival of Lights. Most of them rode in the provided golf carts. Chris and I chose to walk it. The whole course is only about a mile. The lights weren’t all that different from years past, but it was fun watching the folks interacting with their families and each other. Thank you, Helen, for including us.
John 13:34-35 says, I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
Father, thank you for all the sights and sounds of Christmas - even the shopping. Amen.
