Thursday clean house day. It really didn’t take much since we were gone much of last week. Good thing from my perspective. I had one of those arthritis and rheumatiz kinda days. My thumbs joined my back to form a two-pronged front. And they combined with the weird snap in my knee that woke me up in the middle of the night. Just an all-around great way to lead in to teaching a Bible study.
We made it through the cleanup, and even had time to get in a quick Hallmark movie. Oh, and I worked some on the jigsaw puzzle covering our puzzle table right now. Still that Star Wars one.
Oh! And I forgot to mention that Chris made us a real treat for lunch (and we had enough for supper leftovers as well). Black eyed peas - my favorite legume (if legume somehow translates into “bean”). The kind that come in a bag hard as a rock. Then you just cook ‘em until they soften up. Season with ham. And add in cornbread muffins to go with them. Definitely a Southern delicacy. Yum. We finished them off.
Isaiah 40:3 says, A voice of one crying out: Prepare the way of the Lord in the wilderness; make a straight highway for our God in the desert.
Father, thanks for our home group family. Amen.
