July 20 - “Fresh hot rolls”

Back on the road about 9:45 this time. Texas in our sights!

After considering lunch in Hope, Arkansas (we can make it farther), and unsuccessfully attempting lunch at the Three Chicks in Texarkana, Arkansas (closed on Saturday and Sunday), we finally stopped for lunch at the Texas Roadhouse in Texarkana, Texas. That’s been Luke’s and Caleb’s request the whole trip. Something about them bringing bread to your table. And they weren’t wrong. Fresh hot rolls with honey butter. Almost overshadowed whatever that was we ordered. Hmm. I forget …

From there it was a scant hour and a half to our next stop.  Longview. The Waco bunch had some really good friends who live there, so they hosted them for the evening. Chris and I had one more hotel stay to enjoy, so we borrowed the car and headed on over there. The plan was for us to pick them back up this morning, and all attend church with Matt and April.

Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭114‬ says, You are my shelter and my shield; I put my hope in Your word.

Father, thanks for the hospitality the Willert’s showed us. Bless them for that. Amen.
